Review & Giveaway- Canine Colors: A Guide To Better Understanding The Canine World *ENDED*

I’m gold, Riley is blue, Kiko is Orange, and Millie is green. Not really, but those are our colors according to the book I just read: Canine Colors: A Guide To Better Understanding The Canine World by Letitia Fox. Canine Colors is a new and unique way of either finding the right dog for you, or enhancing the relationship you already have with your dog. It was quite easy to do and the process was fun and interesting.

There are four color cards for the canine and four color cards for the human. You first choose which card fits you by comparing the information on the front of the card to your personality. You arrange them according to the directions you are given. After you complete the first step, you read the backs of each card and arrange them again according to the instructions. You then complete a questionnaire in the book. In the end, you discover what your true color is. You complete the same steps, but with the canine cards instead of the human cards, for your pet(s).

The book is a fun and interactive way to find out more about yourself and your personality, as well as your dog’s personality. The results were pretty right on, with the exception of Millie. She’s kind of an odd bird, and it was difficult for me to choose from the information given to me on the cards. I think she might be a combination of colors.

From Letitia:
The mission of Canine Colors is to assist potential dog owners in acquiring a dog that is a match for their family based on the human and the dog’s personality type. Canine Colors is about self-discovery and discovering a dog’s true personality and learning how to prevent mismatches. For example, if I am a “green” owner, I am likely to be driven crazy by the neediness of a “blue” dog. This simple model of personality identification takes the guess work out finding a compatible canine companion.

Canine Colors isn’t just for those seeking a new dog. We can help dog owners to identify their personality type and the personality type of their dog. Having a stronger understanding of what each individual needs will prevent behavior problems and help owners to find solutions to potential mismatches. For example, if I am a “blue” owner, I may be dissatisfied by the aloof, independent nature of my “green” dog, but how can I make this relationship work?

From the press release:
Canine Colors is taking the world by storm with this fun and unique application of the True Colors methodology. Canine Colors has even developed a certification program for animal practitioners. The Canine Colors Certification Programs are tailored to the animal caregiver or physician who not only want to strengthen the canine-human bond, but also desire a great work environment and organizational structure.
