Bloomingtails Dog Boutique- Review:Nina Ottosson’s Dog Tornado Giveaway: Aunt’s Lucy’s Organic Pumpkin Dog Treats *ENDED*
Posted in Doggies, Past Giveaways, Reviews on 29. Aug, 2010

We’re not in Kansas anymore, Kiko! We’ve discovered this PAWsome game from Nina Ottosson, the Dog Tornado, thanks to our friend Carol at Bloomingtails Dog Boutique. Kiko and Riley have been taking turns playing with it. Dog Tornado is just one of many Nina Ottosson interactive dog toys and it’s clearly a hit in our house. It should be in yours, too. It’s a great way to enrich their minds and is a great challenge for them to figure out how to get the treats out.
There are different levels to the Dog Tornado. There are four layers of rotating discs. Three layers have compartments where you can place a treat. To give them some variety I added different kinds of treats. However, the yummiest treats were Grandma Lucy’s Organic Pumpkin Treats. I’ll tell you more about those in a moment.
From Nina Ottosson:
Suggestion… By placing the white plastic blocks in some of the compartments, the degree of difficulty increases. You can tie a string through the holes in the blocks to make it easier for the dog to lift the blocks away. Should your dog have an injured paw for example, you can place the game on a stool to make the dog work with its nose only.
The idea… is for you and your dog/cat to have a pleasant and rewarding time together. Enhances your relationship with your dog. You show. The dog/cat looks, listens and learns. Praise it when it does things right. Together you will have fun!
Tips…
Mix some meaty dog food with water, pour some of the mixture in the compartments, put the game in the freezer and let it set. This is perfect for hot days or when the dog needs some extra activity. Note: only under strict supervision.
Important… Do not let the dog/cat chew or bite the toy, only play with it together with your dog/cat, do not leave the dog/cat unattended, the dog/cat must not play with or chew the blocks. Put away when the game is over. Designed for animals, it is not a toy for a child.
Suits dogs and cats of all ages and sizes.
This is Kiko playing with Nina Ottoson’s Dog Tornado at an easy level. I didn’t use the white plastic blocks/bones with her. I wanted to make it easy at first, so we can work our way up to make it a little more challenging.
Riley got a real kick out of the Dog Tornado. Riley doesn’t usually get excited about toys and games but she certainly took a liking to the Dog Tornado. To show you another example of how you can increase the challenge for your dog, I added the block/bones to the game for Riley.
As you can see, this is a great learning game for dogs and a must-have! We’ve been using it for a week now and they are not bored with it at all. So, one of the treats I used in the Dog Tornado compartments were Grandma Lucy’s Organic Pumpkin Treats.
From Bloomingtails Dog Boutique:
Grandma Lucy’s Organic Dog Treats are not made in a factory but baked in a bakery by people who love their pets. Since 1999, Grandma Lucy’s has taken great pride in making wholesome, natural and delicious pet treats.
All of the ingredients in the Organic Dog Treats are USDA Approved.
Your dog will love the great taste of the Organic Oven Baked Dog Treats, but what you will love the most is the fact that they are made with organic, human-quality ingredients for dogs. The treats are so tasty, your dog will beg for more.
Don’t tell them, but pumpkin is great for dogs! Pumpkin is an excellent source of Vitamin A, potassium, and fiber. The nutrients found in pumpkin help to keep a dog’s immune system strong, thereby strengthening resistance to cancer and other disease.
Ingredients: Organic Wheat Flour, Organic Dehydrated Cane Juice, Organic Soybean and/or Organic Sunflower and/or Organic Canola Oil, Organic Egg Powder, Organic Pumpkin, Organic Mace, Organic Cinnamon.
I’ll freely admit that the Organic Pumpkin Treats smelled so good that I tried them, too. Why not? They are made with human-quality ingredients, right? I have to say…these treats are delicious. I think the girls are going to have to share them with me. :giggles: That’s no joke, folks! They really are tasty. The girls really seem to enjoy them, and really enjoyed finding them hidden in the Dog Tornado with the other treats.
Please do not overfeed your dogs. Treats should also not be a substitute for feeding.
