Review and Giveaway: Tropical Traditions Gold Label Virgin Coconut Oil for Hair Treatment *ENDED*
Posted in Eco-friendly & Organic, Health and Beauty, Past Giveaways, Reviews on 24. Jan, 2011
Tropical Traditions has never let me down as far as the products I have received for review. I continue to get products that I love from them. The last product I reviewed was their Antioxidant Omega 3 Greens and I am hooked on it. I mix it with a smoothie a few times a week.
This time, Tropical Traditions sent me their Gold Label Virgin Coconut Oil for Hair Treatment. I have used it for cooking but I was anxious to see how it worked with my hair. I read that coconut oil for dry, damaged hair helped restore moisture and shine.
It has been about a year since I colored my hair, but I decided to use henna that I purchased with a gift card I received for my birthday last year (I’ll be blogging about my henna experience separately). I haven’t used henna for coloring my hair since I was in high school, which was about 25 years ago. Wow…I really just told my age right there. LOL!
I remember henna leaving some dryness to my hair and scalp, so I thought this would be the ideal time to try out Gold Label Virgin Coconut Oil for Hair Treatment from Tropical Traditions. I was also curious to see how well it would help my scalp, which becomes quite dry this time of year. I massaged it into my scalp and throughout my hair about 30 minutes prior to taking a shower. There are other ways to use it. You can massage it into your hair and place a shower cap on and wear all night, shampooing in the morning. You can also rub it into the ends of your hair after washing, while your hair is still wet.
The verdict: It helped moisturize my scalp and made my hair look sleek, not dull and dry. I would recommend Gold Label Virgin Coconut Oil for Hair Treatment to those who need a little extra help to lock in moisture and combat dry scalp.
