FreeKibble.com-A-Thon
Posted in Doggies on 08. Sep, 2011
Have you heard of Freekibble.com? It was born out of one 11 year old girl’s mission to feed all the hungry dogs and cats at her local shelter. Mimi Ausland had no idea that her mission would grow into such a successful reality. It was 2008 when she saw her mission come to life as FreeKibble.com was launched. Since its inception, 618,507,460 pieces of kibble has been donated to feed not only the dogs and cats at the Humane Society of Central Oregon, but thousands of dogs and cats at rescues, shelters and food banks all over the country.
Today, September 8, 2011, Freekibble.com and Freekibblekat.com is designating ALL kibble raised to help two critical areas impacted by Hurricane Irene: Vermont and North Carolina. Although she’s been gone for over a week, Irene’s after effects – flooding, power outages and more – remain. Many shelters and rescues have been heavily impacted by the storm and aftermath.
Halo, Purely for Pets will be doubling the donation if the sites hit 1 million pieces of kibble. So, with your
help, TWO MILLION pieces of kibble can be sent directly to the Central Vermont Humane Society and the Fayetteville, NC Animal Protection Society to support their efforts in caring for the hundreds of pets impacted by the storm. These organizations will be distributing the food to additional welfare groups who are struggling.
Freekibble is hoping to raise 10K meals and I am confident that we can make this happen. Don’t delay! Visit Freekibble.com and Freekibblekat.com right now to help feed the dogs and cats that have been affected by Hurricane Irene.
