CESAR® Canine Cuisine – Commitment to Therapy Dogs

Based on the shared belief that having a relationship with a dog can truly improve every life, CESAR® Canine Cuisine has partnered with American Humane Association for The Hero Dog Awards, to shine a spotlight on the thousands of dogs who are making a difference by providing comfort to people in need everyday.

Through the Hero Dog Awards, CESAR® Canine Cuisine and American Humane Association are helping to ensure people in need continue to receive the powerful benefits of a dogs love and support. From veterans suffering from post traumatic stress disorder to children diagnosed with autism, the Hero Dog Awards program supports these beloved animals so they can continue to transform lives every day.

Program Background

• In March 2011, CESAR® Canine Cuisine and American Humane Association announced the Hero Dog Awards with some help from Martha Stewart. CESAR® pledged $100,000 to AHA to support therapy dog initiatives.  Submissions began rolling in, nominating hundreds of hero dogs across the country.

• In June, Julianne Hough kicked off the voting campaign for the Hero Dog Awards – at the VA Medical Center in New York – where she announced that for every vote placed on the website (www.herodogawards.org), CESAR® would make additional contributions to the AHA – helping to reach our donation goal of an additional $200,000.  Now, in support of the actual awards show, CESAR® is launching a Facebook application to generate even more incremental donations for therapy dog programs.

• The Hero Dog Awards celebrates, honors and recognizes the thousands of heroic therapy dogs who truly transform lives.  Hero dogs are therapy dogs, military dogs, guide dogs, search and rescue dogs, hearing dogs, law enforcement dogs and ordinary dogs doing extraordinary things.  No matter how big or small, a Hero Dog provides unconditional love and support for those that need it most.
• The Hero Dog Awards presented by CESAR® Canine Cuisine will be broadcast on Hallmark Channel on Veterans Day, November 11, 2011.
