*CLOSED* Giveaway-A-Day: Cowgirl Chocolates

This giveaway is obviously for the pet parents and not the pets!  I was introduced to Cowgirl Chocolates about 2 years ago and have been hooked since then.  This isn’t your average chocolate company – oh no!  It’s a kick-in-your-pants chocolate company.  Why?  Well, Cowgirl Chocolates are well known for their spicy chocolates and caramels, which add a zing to your taste buds!

Have you ever tasted chocolate that has a “kick” to it?  Have you ever tasted chocolate that is hot – and I mean hot like spicy hot?  I wasn’t quite sure what to expect from a spicy chocolate truffle but much to my surprise, it was delicious! It definitely had the “WOW” factor to it.  If you are feeling a little adventurous and can handle spicy foods Cowgirl Chocolates is definitely the chocolate for you.

Cowgirl Chocolates was started by Head Cowgirl Marilyn Lysohir. She founded Cowgirl Chocolates in 1997.  She is an artist who decided that chocolate needed a kick to it.  Her idea of combing spices with chocolates has earned her 16 product awards and 2 packaging awards.  Cowgirl Chocolates has been featured on the Food Network on the show “Unwrapped” and “Extreme Cuisine” and has also been featured in the New York Times and the Toronto Star among others.

New to Cowgirl Chocolates are their Truffle Bars and OH MY GOSH -  they are delicious!  Head Cowgirl Marilyn, asked me if I would like to sample some of the bars.  How could I turn that down?

First, I have to say that I just adore the gift wrap of any item that Marilyn sends to me.  Presentation is key!  Am I right?  So, I always have to take a photo when I get a package from Cowgirl Chocolates.  This one is simple with red tissue paper and their logo sticker:

These photos show some other gift wrapped chocolates:

Now that I got the gift wrap out of the way, I can get down to the actual product!  Now, I do have to mention that I have serious issues with heartburn and acid reflux -  sorry, I know – too much information!  However, this explains why I can’t eat anything spicy.  Not to worry, however, because my husband is a ready and very willing participant when it comes to product testing.  So, the first words out of his mouth: “D%@M, these are AWESOME!”  The first Truffle Bar he tried was the Spicy Almond and to be honest, it didn’t last long!

While I didn’t try the spicy Truffle Bars, I did try the bars that were not spicy: Mild Hazelnut and Mild Dark. YUMMY! Both just melt in your mouth!

Each 1.76oz Truffle Bar is $2.50. You can also purchase a Cowgirl Coffee Mug with Truffle Bars for $24.95. Each comes with 6 delicious truffle bars and an organza gift bag filled with two truffles!

I did want to mention their Habanero Caramel. Yes, I said, “Habanero!”  If you have never tried one of these caramels I suggest you do.  The combination of spicy and sweet gives a surprisingly delightful flavor.  I haven’t tried them recently but I did have one a couple of years ago and the flavor stuck with me.

If you have a chocolate lover in your home, or amongst your family and friends,  Cowgirl Chocolates is a great place to shop. IT’S NOT TO LATE TO ORDER IN TIME FOR CHRISTMAS!

    Doreen,
Just out of curiosity does the certificate include shipping. I was admiring the site and thought I would get a few stocking stuffers. 4 chocolate bars or $10 worth cost $9.35 for shipping. It was still $9.35 for one bar!
Thank you for everything you do,
    Misty
