Milk-Bone® Puppy Basket – The Donation #CBias #iLoveMyK9

Do you remember the post I did last week for the puppy basket I was getting together?  I also created a Google+ album of my shopping experience, which can be viewed here.  I went to Wal-Mart on a shopping trip specifically to purchase items for a puppy basket.  This will help with training as it includes training pads for those pups that are potty training.  These can definitely come in handy.  Well – the basket turned out great!  This project has been fun for me.  I loved shopping for a dog that is going to be adopted and making up the basket was a blast.  I only wish I could see the forever family actually receiving the basket but that’s ok – I know they will be happy.

The Southside Animal Shelter is my recipient for this donation.  They hold a special place in my heart because the dogs that we rescued from the puppy mill in Missouri in October 2010 went to the Southside Animal Shelter.  They rescue dogs and cats everyday and make a difference in the lives of so many.  I wish I could do more, which is why I was more than happy to participate in this opportunity to make a basket for them.

There are a number of dogs available for adoption at Southside Animal Shelter, as well as cats.  The basket I am donating can be given to any of these small dogs when they are adopted.  It will certainly help the new forever family.

This is Izzy, a small Chihuahua.  Her age unknown but she is definitely young.  She is waiting for her forever home.

This is Debi.  She is being fostered at the moment but is really looking forward to finding a forever family.

Laci is a senior dog at 10 years old.  She is in a foster home for now and really needs a home of her own.

The gift basket I created for the Southside Animal Shelter includes treats from Milk-Bone®, Pup-Peroni® and Milo’s Kitchen®.  Also included are puppy training pads, teething bone from Nylabone, a collar and lead in pink, a bed and a food and water dish.

Diane, a representative for the Southside Animal Shelter, received the basket and couldn’t wait to give it to a new family adopting one of the smaller dogs at the shelter.

If you are considering a pet this year, please do not shop! ADOPT!  We have way too many homeless dogs in this country and I encourage adoption a lot on my blog.  If you are not considering adding a pet to your home then please consider a monetary donation, as well as products (like the gift basket I made).  They appreciate anything and everything.  Also needed are blankets, cleaning products, food, blankets, newspaper, toys, detergent and so many other things.  They are also always in need of volunteers.  You can walk the dogs, clean for them, do laundry – the need is great and ALL the shelters need volunteers!  Be sure to seek out your local shelters and rescues and ask what you can do to help.  Volunteering is very rewarding.

Here I am donating treats and beds.

Disclaimer: This shop has been compensated as part of a social shopper insights study for CollectiveBias. #CBias #ILoveMyK9 Not only is the basket being donated to the Southside Animal Shelter, but they will also be receiving a monetary donation from me.  I will also be making a monetary donation to Have a Heart, Inc.
