CLOSED Spring Pet Products at Petco and Thundershirt Giveaway

While Petco is not the closest pet supply store near me, when I am in the area I do make a point to stop by. In addition to holding many adoption events for local rescues and shelters, they also carry quite a bit of holistic, all-natural and organic brands of dog food. In fact, they do have one of the largest selections available, along with having very knowledgeable staff.

Last year, Petco introduced products from their Planet Petco line of products, their new “green” line of products. I will blog more about that in a few weeks, leading up to Earth Day.

Petco not only holds adoption events at their locations, which helps support their local pet communities, but their Petco Foundation partners with over 7,500 non-profit animal welfare groups by providing monetary, tangible and educational resources! It is because of this, and the fact that they do absolutely carry a nice wide-range of products, that I make plans to stop by when I am around a Petco.

Now that spring is upon us, it’s important for me to have toys the girls can play with indoors. I should mention that we do live in Indiana and it rains a lot here in the spring. Kiko is very interested in puzzles and toys that squeak, so when she received the Invincibles Hide-A-Buzz toy she went bananas. The hide-and-seek toys are designed to last long – keeping your dog occupied, which helps eliminate boredom. So, when we have those rainy days Kiko has yet another toy she can play with to keep her busy. The Hide-A-Buzz toy contains “bees” with squeakers in each bee. You can hide the bees inside the hive and Kiko sticks her nose in and squeaks the bees. When she gets the bees she runs around the house squeaking them. It’s hilarious. When she gets tired she simply takes a nap – usually with a piece of the toy! Adorable!

One of the dogs’ favorite outdoor toys is a ball chuck toy and Petco carries a ChuckIt! Indoor Launcher Dog Toy, which is similar but it’s a chuck toy you can use inside! It comes with a ChuckIt! Roller Dog Toy but you can purchase the ChuckIt! Indoor Ball Dog Toy, which is a soft round ball. Chuck either of these inside safely – I would suggest chucking down a hallway, which is what we do.

Speaking of spring – thunderstorms are also part of this lovely time of year and Riley is terrified of them. Petco also carries products that can help in that department. The Thundershirt is an anti-stress wrap that can help with the anxiety that comes on during thunderstorms. It’s lightweight and breathable and when wrapped around your dog it applies gentle pressure, giving your dog a feeling of comfort.
