*CLOSED* Review & Giveaway: SIMPLE GREEN® LAUNDRY
Posted in Doggies, Eco-friendly & Organic, Past Giveaways, Reviews on 30. Jul, 2012
I am a huge fan of Simple Green® products, so I am thrilled to pieces that Doggies and Stuff was chosen, along with a
group of other bloggers, to test their new SIMPLE GREEN® LAUNDRY before it hits store shelves!
Whether your pets have allergies or not, using products that are free and clear of toxic chemicals, dyes and fragrances is a given. When I learned that Simple Green put out a Free & Clear Laundry product I couldn’t wait to try it out on their beds. Their cleaning products are fantastic, so I knew their new Laundry product would be, too. Laundry detergent can definitely be harmful to your pets. Some serious reactions include itching, rashes, redness, loss of hair, and eye irritation.
Simple Green® Laundry, as taken from their website:
Choose Simple Green Laundry 2x to power through tough dirt, grease, grass, food, coffee and wine – leaving your clothes clean and fresh.
This Free & Clear (no scent/no color) formula is:
- Biodegradable
- USDA Certified BioBased® Product
- Chlorine-free
- Optical-brightener-free
- Traditional and HE machine compatible
- Optimized for great performance in hot, warm, or cold water
Details I wanted to share:
- Simple Green NEVER tests on animals!
- There is no scent to the detergent but the beds smell clean. It’s hard to describe what “clean” smells like, I know. It just had a freshness kind of smell to it.
- It was easy to measure the amount I needed with the cap that gives you 3 measurements for your various load sizes.
- Works in top load washers and HE washers.
- Tough on stains! No signs of dirty paws anywhere.
- One bottle equals 100 HE loads and 66 standard loads.

- 64% of the total carbon content is plant derived, earning the USDA Certified Biobased Product seal.
- Made in the USA.
- The bottle is 100% recyclable!
FREE SHIPPING CODE!
Simple Green® Laundry is not available in stores until later this year but it is available online HERE for only $10.99! This is truly a deal because you are getting a lot of loads out of this one bottle! If you don’t want to wait for this product to hit stores I have a FREE SHIPPING CODE, which you can use on your total Simple Green purchase – not just for the Laundry product! See other Simple Green products HERE and use this code at checkout: BLOG2012! This special code is valid until August 31, 2012.

My pet cleaning tip is to have a set place to put on the leash/harness. After a few “excitement” piddles on the carpet, we moved Sissy’s harnessing spot onto the tile. That way if an accident happens it’s easy to clean up. I also have a steam mop for the tile and kitchen floor. That way, we don’t use any harsh chemicals on the floor.

I vacuum and dust all the time because my dog is allergic to it. I also wipe her down after she has been outside. I clean her whole body and paws off with a baby wipe to get any allergens off of her.

My best pet cleaning tip is to brush you dog’s teeth and to disinfect the toothbrush afterwords. I use a UV light to do it.

My tip is cleaning our dog’s paws, nose, mouth, and his *sensitive* areas (where pee and poo come out) after we come back from a walk. We walk around the apartment barefoot, so we don’t want Dumpling tracking in any dirty stuff!

I have nine rescued dogs of my own, three rescued kitties and one cockatoo. I vacuum with my Dyson Animal all of the time! I also use the Pledge with the allergen reducer in it to dust weekly. I just bought the Bissell Arrrgh broom and love it so far! Thank you!

I keep a box of pet wipes right by the door so when the dogs come in from rolling in the yard I can clean them up straight away.

My cleaning tip is to use natural-based products (baking soda, vinegar, etc.) versus harsh chemicals that cause chemical reactions with the origin of the stain/odor and make things worse.

My favorite cleaning tip is to soak pet bedding with Oxiclean, then wash with Oxiclean, any liquid laundry detergent (no detergent pacs or powder), and Febreze Laundry Odor Eliminator. All the bedding smells really good and has been deep cleaned. Also, make sure to give your dogs a good bath while the bedding is being washed. The dogs will smell good from having had a bath as well as clean bedding so the bedding stays fresh longer and so do the dogs.
