Friday Night Emergency Vet Trip and Saturday Blog Hop

Well, my Friday off seemed to be going well and then BAM!
So, Caleb got home from work (I took the day off to run errands), we had dinner, and I started playing with Kiko and her very favorite toy – the Indoor Chuck It! Things settled down and I was on the floor petting Millie when Kiko came over and was limping. I took a closer look and her dew claw was hanging and blood was dripping.
Off we went to the Emergency Vet. They gave her a localized shot and pulled the part of the claw that was hanging, wrapped it up and sent us home. The pain shot they gave her has made her higher than a kite. The last time I saw her this messed up was when I picked her up after her ear surgery, to remove a growth.

Ar man, sorry about your emergency vet trip. Any time Elka is on pain meds or coming off of anesthesia, I always feel bad for her…she’s very obviously confused by her mental state!
Yes those dew claws can be tricky. Same thing happened to one of my dogs, but instead of a vet trip I very carefully removed it myself.
Oh man, poor Kiko, I once swallowed a pill and had to go to the emergency vets! Thank goodness for them! Glad she’s on the mend though! Get better soon! ~Goose
Oh no! I’m glad Kiko is ok. Hopefully she gets to come off pain meds soon. When Twiggy broke her leg, she was on meds for nearly 3 months! We did become expert wrappers!
