We were invited to join in on Zuke’s® new “Fuel the Love to Fuel the Cure™” Social Media Campaign to help support the Dog and Cat Cancer Fund (DCCFund), a non-profit organization dedicated to understanding, treating and preventing canine and feline cancer.
Did you know that canine cancer affects 1 out of 3 dogs? I have three dogs and while canine cancer hasn’t affected us yet (knock on wood), I have close friends and family that it has affected. The Fuel the Love to Fuel the Cure Campaign will help the DCCFund provide the much-needed financial assistance to pet parents whose dogs and cats are suffering from cancer.
“Zuke’s already donates a portion of all product sales to the Dog and Cat Cancer Fund,” states Chris Meiering, Zuke’s Director of Marketing and co-founder of the DCCFund. “We hope that by engaging our consumers in this effort, we emphasize the importance of this cause and underscore the devotion we have to all pets.”
Doggies and Stuff, Zuke’s, and a number of other pet blogger’s participating in this fantastic campaign, invite you to share photos and videos of your dogs in action and loving life. For every person who follows @ZukesPets on Instagram or Twitter and tags their action-packed photo or video with #FuelTheLove, Zuke’s will donate $5 to The Dog and Cat Cancer Fund up to $10,000!
I’ve mentioned before that we only recommend treats that we would feed our own dogs. Zuke’s not only provides a wide-variety of natural treats made in the USA with wholesome ingredients, but they also give back, encourage healthier lifestyles for you and your pets, and promote living green.
Zuke’s Skinny Bakes™ are a big hit in the Doggies and Stuff household. These crunchy treats pack a powerful punch in flavor, but at only 10 calories a bite, they will help keep your dog’s weight at an acceptable level. Keep in mind that only feeding low calorie treats will not keep your dog trim; much like humans, dogs need exercise and have regular meals to help maintain.
The first thing I noticed about the Skinny Bakes when I opened the Pumpkin ‘N Sweet Potato Crunch™ bag was the aroma. Oh my! I just about stuck my face in the bag and gobbled the treats up! Ha ha! Okay, in all seriousness, they really do smell good. While Millie and Kiko will pretty much eat most treats I put in front of them, Riley needs a minute with the treat before eating it. It’s like a ritual; she smells it, looks at me, and smells it again. She takes it gently between her teeth and goes over to one of the beds. Typically, she will eat it once she is comfortable and has had a minute to examine it. With the Pumpkin ‘N Sweet Potato Crunch, she smelled it, took it and ate it right in front of me. She then sat there as if she was waiting for me to give her another one. These treats are meat-free, vegan; they are wheat-, corn-, and Soy-Free, which means that even dogs with allergies can have these as they are considered a clean ingredient dog treat. For $6.99 for a 12 oz bag, you can Feed Skinny Bakes and Fuel the Love®!
Zuke’s Mini Naturals™ are the perfect size. These tiny, moist morsels are made with all natural ingredients. There are several things that factor into your dog’s weight and like us, they need to limit the amount of treats . These tiny treats for our pint-sized fur kids are packed with protein and whole food antioxidants.
At a whopping 3.5 calories, Mini Naturals make great training treats. Kiko is especially fond of the moist treats, so these won her over quickly! Kiko will sit in front of the refrigerator (we keep them on top) for as long as she can, before you feel sorry for her and give her another one! There are six yummy flavors to choose from and cost $5.79 for a 6 oz bag.
Z-Filets® by Zuke’s are healthy grain-free filets for dogs. Made with USA chicken, beef or New Zealand Venison, and ingredients like rosemary, sage, and turmeric, you would think these just came right off your grill! The Z-Filets packed with antioxidants. They are large in size but they are very easy to tear into smaller pieces to share with all.
While Kiko will eat crunchy treats, the moist treats are her favs. I have used the Z-Filets in some of her puzzle toys by tearing it into smaller pieces and hiding them within the treat dispenser. Millie and Riley don’t really understand how the treat dispensing puzzles work but Kiko is a pro and absolutely has a blast trying to get her treats out. However, the best treat of all is when her mama just grabs the bag and gives her one!
Glucosamine, Chondroitin, and Eggshell Membrane are all natural ingredients that are known to help *strengthen joints and bones in dogs. Zuke’s Hip Action Dog Treats contain those ingredients. They are great for dogs like Riley; she is heading into her senior years and already exhibiting signs of joint issues. However, these treats can be given to young dogs as well! Because they help strengthen joints and bones, dogs of any age can benefit from them.
A 6oz bag of Hip Action by costs $8.99 and come in three yummy flavors: Fresh Peanut Butter Formula, Roasted Beef Recipe, and Roasted Chicken Recipe. We love them here in our household and know they will be a big hit in yours!
We will be posting more about Zuke’s in the coming weeks, so stay tuned!
